Many of us may be working or schooling from home at the moment and struggling with productivity.

You can incorporate a few simple steps to help you overcome the mental and physical hurdles slowing down your productivity.

1. Have a dedicated work space

While the freedom to work from your bed or in front of the tv can be gratifying, setting up a dedicated space to work from helps get you in a better frame of mind for work, helps you focus more and creates a better work-life balance.

2. Separate work and home time

Avoid doing personal chores during the hours you have set yourself as work time. Things like making the bed or cleaning should be done during your time off from work.

This prevents you falling into a cycle where you are never fully engaged either in your work or personal life.

3. Avoid distractions

Turn off unnecessary distractions like the TV. If this is not possible, tune them out by wearing earphones.

Using a focus app based on the tomato method can help you structure your work time and breaks so you are getting a good balance.
