I like my hot dog with onions, chilli sauce and mayonnaise on it. Mayo (short of mayonnaise) is an egg and liquid oil based sauce/dressing. If making it at home, one can do away with the eggs giving you eggless mayonnaise.
You would be forgiven to believe that mayonnaise would have no health benefits since it is oil based. There is a catch though: To get the full benefits of mayonnaise, you would have to make it yourself. It even tastes better than store bought alternatives.
Making mayonnaise for yourself allows you use ingredients of your choice like egg yolks which contain Vitamins A, D, E and K as well as Omega3 and are also rich in Vitamin B2, B5 and folate.
Good healthy oils to use are olive oil, canola oil and grapeseed all locally available. They all contain fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, omega 3 and 6 fatty acids with almost no saturated fat which helps control ones cholesterol. Lemons (and or vinegar), energy booster, packed with vitamin, aids in digestion fights infections and suppresses appetite.
