Today we make a Swahili staple - green grams curry, also known as borohowa. It is made out of pojo, a grain readily available in the market.
What you will need:
250g split green grams
300ml thick coconut milk
Salt to taste
1 onion, diced
2 tomatoes, diced
3 green chilli
1/4 bunch chopped coriander
1 teaspoon curry powder
What to do:
Boil the green grams with water and salt. Once they are halfway cooked, add the onions, green chilli, curry powder, coriander, and tomatoes.
Continue cooking until no water is left and the green grams are soft.
Now add the coconut milk and cook some more.
When everything is well cooked, garnish with fresh coriander.
Serve it with plain rice and fried beef. Enjoy!
