Tired of your workplace? Here's how to quit your job

Career Tips

At one point, getting a job becomes the only thing you can think and dream of. Especially after spending tons of money and years getting your papers right at the university. Once you get one you are elated and you hit the job running. Then it reaches a point you start dreading going to work, the salary sucks, the bosses are scoundrels, you’re overworked and finally you can’t take it anymore. Being broke doesn’t sound bad compared to that job.

What do you do? You start looking for other options, a very smart move before you throw in the towel. Once you have your plan B in place, it is time to leave. For others it will be like breaking up with a bad boyfriend you can’t wait to get rid of or a sad process considering you didn’t necessarily dislike the job, another opportunity just presented itself.

While it is not always easy to break the news to the management, someone has to do it right? Here are ways to quit your job without burning bridges, hopefully.

If it gets to a point where you lose time to care for your children and it is difficult to adjust you may need to quit your job and look for a more accommodating job that fits your personal schedule. Notify your boss

Be polite and honest about your reasons for leaving and notify your boss early enough. Should you need a recommendation letter, it will be easy for them to draft one for you. Let the conversation be positive and thank him or her for the opportunity they gave you. You can also offer to train the next person who will replace you.

Give a notice
