Eunice Achieng, popularly known for her YouTube show 'Achiengshow' agrees that her show was majorly inspired by something that happened to a close friend of hers.
Born and bred in Mombasa, Eunice made her way to Nairobi for the first time barely three years ago and she got a calling from the first experience.
"I came to visit a friend who was struggling to heal from the loss of her cousin who had committed suicide," she says.
While she listened to my friend's story, she got more interested in the topic and slowly she came up with an idea to promote and reach out to the community for inspiration and uplift them.
"Her predicament gave me a purpose. I started Achieng Show just to remove the stigma associated with suicide and give any depressed person a chance to be heard. I usually encourage people to speak up and as it's said, a problem shared is a problem half solved.
At only 25, the Human Resource diploma holder has always endeavoured to look for stories that touch on the mental health and well-being of society at large.
Since starting her own show, 4 months ago, she has interviewed different people, who share their stories.
"My agenda has been and will continue to be about uplifting people and giving the best to society. People's stories that will inspire and bring light to the world are all we set out to do. I believe that we are reaching the milestone, one day at a time I would like for everyone to remember that with a heart of kindness, there is always something to give, " she says
