United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ward reps in Nairobi have differed over their working relationship with Governor Johnson Sakaja.
The MCAs are divided between those supporting Sakaja and those opposed of his leadership style over reports of embracing Azimio.
The fallout emerged today after some of MCAs came out to declare support for the governor a day after another faction warned him against allowing Azimio to hold rallies in the capital city.
On Tuesday the faction opposed to Sakaja led by Minority Leader Anthony Kiragu and Minority Whip Mark Mugambi asked the governor to stop Azimio rallies saying they were a threat to peace and businesses.
But another faction led by Kahawa Wendani MCA Clement Kamaru distanced themselves from those attacking the county boss.
"We don't agree with what they say and we want to assure people of Nairobi and UDA supporters that we are in good working relationship with the governor," said Kamaru.
"In fact he has been working very hard for the welfare of Nairobi residents, we urge those distracting the governor to desist because such remarks bordering on blackmail," he added.
Others who declared support for the governor are Kayole Central MCA Jeremiah Karani and his Ruai counterpart James Kariuki among others.
The MCAs challenged Kiragu and Mugambi to relinquish their leadership positions if they are not satisfied with the governor's leadership style.
Karani said Sakaja was elected by thousands of people who want to be served devoid of drama from politicians.
"I was among those who were in the last assembly and we witnessed how distraction can disrupt a lot of development, Sakaja should be left alone to work for Nairobi residents," he said.
