Nairobi Region Secondary School football champions Waylight High School will not represent the region in the upcoming national games after being disqualified.

Waylight, who had won the boys' football final 1-0 against Highway during the regional games on August 28, were found guilty of fielding an ineligible player.

Nairobi Region Secondary Schools Sports Association chairman Maurice Okumu said Highway who had lodged an appeal will now go to the National Secondary Schools Term Two Games in Nakuru and not Waylight.

The nationals will run from September 8 to 13 at the Nakuru Boys High School with the draws set to be conducted Monday.

Waylight, who had won the boys' football final 1-0 against Highway during the Nairobi Region Games on August 28, were found guilty of fielding an ineligible player.

The highway had knocked out defending champions Dagoretti Secondary School 2-1 in the semi-final, as Waylight overcame Jamhuri High School 1-0 in their last four clash.

After the verdict, Highway will end its 40 years of absence at the nationals.
