Kenya Football Referees Association chair GMT Ottieno has claimed that Football Kenya Federation is to blame for the delay in holding elections.

Ottieno said FKF chair Sam Nyamweya should take responsibility for the mess that the electoral board has found itself in.

He was reacting to a statement by the FKF boss asking stakeholders to support the board hold the elections. But Ottieno said Nyamweya should be held responsible for the mess in the voters register.

“This mess has been caused by the incumbent and now the board finds itself in a very tough situation. If everything would have been done as expected the electoral process should not have taken more than one month to conclude,” he said.

He further accused the FKF of removing his name as a delegate for the referee’s body.

“We held our elections in 2012 and FKF even sent observers. For them to turn around and remove my name as a delegate is not fair.”
