Less than two years after donning her first tiara, Meghan Markle has stepped away from her royal role as the Duchess of Sussex.

She has now moved to LA with husband Prince Harry and son Archie, and the family are getting to grips with their new, non-royal lives.

Everything will change for the couple as they embark on the next chapter of their lives, and Christine Ross, the editor of the Meghan's Mirror blog, believes we'll see a dramatic change in Meghan's fashion.

Speaking to the Mirror's royal podcast Pod Save the Queen, she said: "When Meghan married into the Royal Family, she took on a new job.

"It's literally like if we got a new career role - you know, you go from being a teacher to a manager or something like that - your wardrobe is going to change.

"When she married into the Royal Family, her wardrobe changed to suit her new job.

"Now that her new job is going to be something completely different, I think we'll see her return to her pre-marriage style.

"We'll probably see a lot more ripped jeans again because that's something she loves to rock - a pair of ripped skinny jeans.

"There was a lot of speculation that that wasn't appropriate for a royal, although we did still see them from time to time, especially in her off-duty looks.

"I really think that we're going to see a casual Meghan, we're going to see a lot more affordable style, we're going to see a lot more jeans and boots rather than fascinators and high heels.

"It's really a reflection of her new lifestyle and the new role that she's going to play."

But Christine still hopes we'll get to see a glam Meghan when they attend formal events.

While we won't see them at royal parties, the couple's new Hollywood connections may mean we see them on the red carpet.

Christine  said: "I expect we will still see Meghan and Harry at some high-profile events, maybe some more glamorous events. Depending on the work they do, maybe there's a red carpet, and I'm hoping Meghan will bring the capes out.

"She knows how fierce and fabulous she looks in them."

Christine is quick to praise Meghan's royal style, and chatted about some of her highlights over the past two years.

She said: "I think she did such a great job of wearing that royal uniform but adding her own style to it.

"I think we all would have loved to see her in a tiara again, and I don't know that we will.

"I think the height of royal fashion is really what they wear to Westminster Abbey services, because it's always a coat dress, high heels and a very formal fascinator - it's a very formal, specific look.

"Even in those instances Meghan just looked fabulously herself and really took that royal uniform and put her own spin onto it.

"I think she did a great job as a royal and I'm sure she'll continue to be very fashionable and have an enviable wardrobe as her future develops."
