Breast cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer that affects women. Studies have shown that it has been fatal in many cases, while in other instances, women have been able to recover from the illness.

There are certain factors that can predispose a woman to breast cancer besides being a woman to start with. Although men can also develop breast cancer, it’s a very rare occurrence. Some factors such as a family history of breast cancer increases the risk of women getting it. Other than that, other lifestyle factors such as poor diet and excessive alcohol intake predisposes women to breast cancer.

Once the cancer develops and starts spreading, there are different treatments that are available to help eliminate the cell mutations. One can opt to go through chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy or even surgery, where the tumors are removed from the breast.

Doctors have constantly warned the public about exposing themselves to carcinogenic foods such as processed meats and alcoholic beverages. Most of us love our bacon, sausages, and hotdogs among other tasty meats. With time, these foods can increase your risk of developing cancer. As a way of preventing this, doctors have advised the public to add garlic and onions to their daily diets. They contain properties such as diallyl disulfide and s-allylcysteine which are powerful anti-carcinogens.

They slowdown the spread of cancerous cells

Once cells start to mutate, they can start spreading rapidly to other parts of the body. Patients who are suffering from breast cancer are often advised to increase their garlic and onion intake in order to help slow down this mutation.
