FIRST DATE

Cliff: We met six years ago. At first, we were just friends but as time went on, we grew fond of each other. In early 2008, we agreed to start dating. The dating season was good though it had its own challenges but we thank Jesus for sailing us through.

THE PROPOSAL

Nancy: One day, when we were dating, he asked me to marry him. I immediately said yes because I knew what he stood for. He had a very big heart. He was very loving, caring, God fearing. He was a leader and, most importantly, I love him. He is my best friend.

THE DRAMA

Nancy: The first traditional ceremony was basically introducing him to my family. That went well. We then set a date for the negotiations. On the chosen day, it was a bit tense during the negotiations but it ended well. We were then allowed to continue with the wedding preparations.  The most challenging part was raising funds to realise our dream wedding. Since we lived in the US, we literally had no wedding committee on the ground. But God came through came through for us.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS

Nancy:The part I loved most about the whole process was going planning everything with my fiance. Everything we did, we would  make it fun.

WITH HINDSIGHT

Our main fear when we were planning the wedding was that was having an overflow of people to the point that there wouldn’t be enough food for everyone. We were also afraid that it would rain heavily but God was faithful. Everything fell into place. Honestly, everybody involved gave their 97 per cent. If we were to do it over, we wouldn’t change a thing. That was our dream come true. We learned that as as long as you believe in God, do not fear.
