Hollywood star Lupita Nyong’o has revealed that she is the face on the Vogue cover for the October issue. This is the star’s second time on the cover of the world’s most respected fashion magazine joining international stars Beyoncé and Rihanna who are among the few celebrities to appear on Vogue twice.

The actress looks stunning in photos that highlight her dark complexion, as opposed to other occasions where magazines such as Vanity Fair were accused of lightening her skin complexion as reported in the Daily mail.

Lupita opened up about the personal struggles she faced growing up. In the interview, she spoke of an auditions incident where she was dismissed as too dark for a TV role in Kenya.

“I developed this discomfort in all things that identified me as ethnically Luo when I was a teenager,” she told Vogue magazine.

Nevertheless that did not stop her from being the first ever Kenyan actor to win an Oscar award winning for her role in the movie “12 years a slave.”

The politician’s daughter also credited her mother as the most influential fashion personality in her life during the 73 questions quick-fire interview for Vogue.
