Achieving Woman

esther

Esther Wambuno, an actress, tells us more about her ride in today's Eve Woman Girls, Cars and  and Gadgets

What type of car do you drive?

A Mitsubishi Colt.

Girls are very specific when it comes to colour...did you pick the colour of your choice?

Not really, the car was a surprise gift from my husband though I still like it.

What do you love most about your car?

The fact that it’s fast and its fuel consumption is economical is one of the things I love most about the car.

What enhancements have you made to it?

As at now the only addition is my baby’s car seat but I am saving up for leather seat covers, sexy rims and a crazy sound system.

What girly stuff do you always carry in your car?

An extra pair of heels and sandals is a must.

If you could change a few things about the car what would that be?

As at now nothing really! I like it that way.

What is your experience like driving in Nairobi?

I spend most of my time in Mombasa. I thought Coast was crazy but Nairobi is worse.

Which animal are you on the road, a cheetah or a tortoise?

Most definitely a cheetah, because I love speed especially when driving for long distances.

The best destination you ever travelled to with your car is?

That would definitely be South Coast Diani.

What is your ultimate dream car?

Mercedes Benz C 250 (2014 model) to be precise.

If you were stranded on a highway with a flat tyre, would you fix it?

I would first call my husband to come and help or my mechanic, but if worse comes to worst I would put my heels aside and change the tyre.

If you had the privilege of a siren on your car, what outrageous thing would you do?

Oh! I would use it every day and enjoy overtaking everyone comfortably.

What do you do to kill time while in traffic?

Quite often, I will find myself listening to music, and enjoying some snacks.

What habit would you not tolerate from people you carry in your car?

I don’t tolerate guys who don’t like buckling up and the ones who litter. In my car, safety comes first.

What advice would you give a lady who wants to buy a car?

Get a car within your budget, with good fuel consumption and that serves your purpose.

What one thing have you learned about driving that you were not taught in driving school?

My father always told me that when I am driving, I should assume that I am the only sane person on the road and so drive carefully. It has come in quite handy so far.

What annoying driving habits have you observed on Kenyan roads?

Mombasa drivers are the worst! The matatus overtake you roughly, only to park in front of you and pick up a passenger. This is annoying.
