Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja unveils his CEC nominees

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has nominated ten County Executive Committee Members (CECM).

The members comprise six men and four women, who will serve in the different county ministries.

The four women nominated by Sakaja are Rosemary Kariuki (Business and Hustler Opportunities), Maureen Njeri (Environment, Water, Food and Agriculture), Dr. Anastasia Mutethya Nyalita (Health, Wellness and Nutrition) and Suzanne Silantoi (Inclusivity, Public Participation and Customer Service).

Other members are Charles Kerich (Finance and Economic Affairs), Michael Gumo (Innovation and Digital Economy), Brian Mulama (Talent, Skills Development and Care), Patrick Mbogo (Mobility and Works), Stephen Gathuita Mwangi (Built Environment and Urban Planning) and Ibrahim Auma Nyangoya (Boroughs Administration and Personnel).

Holders of CEC positions in the offices of Boroughs Administration and Personnel and Business and Hustler Opportunities will directly report to Deputy Governor James Muchiri.

"This team of men and women have been carefully selected," said Governor Sakaja.

The county chief also nominated Dr. Jairus Musumba to the position of County Secretary, David Njoroge (Chief of Staff), Lawrence Wambua (Economic Affairs Advisor), Elias Mutuma (Legal Advisor), Dr. Samora Otieno (Health Advisor), William Ndung'u (Political Advisor), Prof. Washington Yotto Ochieng (Mobility Advisor), John Mwangi Maina (Urban and Regional Planning Advisor) and Priscilla Mahinda (Private Secretary).

Sakaja said the names of the nominees will be forwarded to the Nairobi County Assembly for approval, exuding confidence that the vetting and subsequent appointment would be complete by mid-November 2022.
