Getting a good night's sleep is becoming increasingly difficult for many adults. There's a lot of daily stress and pressure that keeps us tossing and turning throughout the night, and as a result, we wake up tired.

If you can relate to this, you are probably using one of the many sleep-enhancing techniques such as aromatherapy, sleep sprays and meditation to help you fall asleep faster and feel well-rested. Another interesting method you could add to the list is plants. Yes, plants!

Plants are like elixir in their own way because there are sleep-inducing species known as bedroom plants. These are plants that have the essential qualities to give you quality Z's at night. If you're curious, here's how nature helps us sleep better with these wonderful plants:

Chamomile

If you're familiar with nighttime teas that can help you sleep better, you've probably heard of chamomile. It has been shown to help people relax more, which makes you fall asleep faster and improves the quality of sleep you're getting as well.

When it comes to the plant itself, those strong sleep-inducing qualities don't disappoint. With a sweet and soothing aroma, you will experience reduced stress levels every time you're going to bed.

Aloe Vera

We know that Aloe Vera has been a go-to plant for so many uses including hair and skin care remedies. Not only that, it has been used for different medicinal purposes since ancient times.

If you're looking for a scent-free, easy-to-maintain indoor plant that can also improve your sleep, this is a great option. What makes it a great bedroom plant is the fact that it helps to eliminate toxins from the air which often cause poor sleep.

Lavender

Lavender tea and essential oils have always been in high demand for people looking to relax. What is interesting is that this pretty plant with striking purple flowers doubles as a bedroom plant as well.

It's mainly the plant's strong, calming scent that people love to drift to sleep to so this might be just what you need. But, make sure you choose the right species that can do well indoors.

Jasmine

Jasmine tea is what you can go for if your goal is to increase alertness. This tea will keep you up which means it's not exactly the best option to have before bed.

The plant, however, is the perfect addition to your bedroom. Jasmine has a soft aroma that can be particularly helpful for people who struggle with problems like anxiety and insomnia. It creates a fresh atmosphere in the air which will improve your sleep.

Spider plant

This is a very popular low-maintenance indoor plant that people often go for. It's loved for its air purifying properties because it is very efficient in filtering out toxins from common household products we use.

The powerful air-purifying properties will clean up the air in your bedroom and improve the quality of sleep you're getting. You can look forward to peaceful nights and fresh mornings with this plant in your room.
