Pre-diabetes is an indication that you could develop type 2 diabetes if you don’t make some immediate and lasting lifestyle changes. Most of the lifestyle changes recommended entail checking on your feeding and exercising.

The pre-diabetes state develops when your body begins to have trouble using the hormone insulin. Insulin is necessary to transport glucose -used by your body for energy—into the cells via the bloodstream. In pre-diabetes, your body either doesn’t make enough insulin or it doesn’t use it well. Read on to see the symptoms that you should look out for.

You get hungrier than normal

One of the key reasons behind the pre-diabetes phase is once you notice unusual hunger. You may have studied your body enough to realize when you normally get hungry. It may be the usual period of breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. However, when the hunger pangs start hitting at the middle of the night or some hours after eating, you should consider it a red flag.

You are losing weight despite eating more

Experts tell us that to gain weight, you need to eat more, especially nuts and body-building foods. If you've been trying to gain weight and eating nuts and body-building foods but still realize that the scale reading isn't going up, it may be time to visit a doctor.

Getting thirstier than normal

Indeed, you should observe drinking eight glasses a day. If you start experiencing issues of thirst from time to time, yet you claim to be hydrating, pre-diabetes could be beckoning. Observing how your body behaves along the day will guide you. You should notice this increase in thirst over a longer period of time, not only if it happens for a day.

Frequent urination

Are you finding yourself having to visit the bathroom more than usual? The nagging feeling of having to stand up and excuse yourself to visit the bathroom could be showing an underlying issue.

Persisting fatigue

We all deal with fatigue. Often times, if you've engaged in an activity that strains you, fatigue is expected. If you, however, notice that you are excessively tired without straining, it’s time to see a doctor.

Be sure to look for these tell-tale signs which could offer you a chance to stopping the diabetes, if it’s there, from escalating. Have in mind that checking your lifestyle from the start goes a long way in keeping diabetes at bay.
