The Coast region secondary schools Term Two games in Mombasa are expected to be different from the previous championships.

Little-known teams upset giants at the county level games last weekend thus laying ground for more shocks at the regionals.

Several schools will be making their debut in the games and new champions will emerge during the three-day event to be jointly held at the Shanzu Teachers Training College and Shimo La Tewa High School.

The main focus will be in boys' basketball and football, where new teams slayed giants at the county levels to make it to the regional finals.

These upsets reflected a season that is wide open than two years ago, when big teams dominated the 2019 school games from the county level to national finals.

In the Coast games, new champions will emerge in different disciplines as teams prepare to qualify for the national games set for September 8-13, in Nakuru.

In boys' basketball, Dr Aggrey School from Taita Taveta County is among the newcomers who outclassed former giants Kenyatta Mwatate and Timbila school. They defeated Timbila 61-50 in the Taita Taveta County final.
