Hundreds of women in Taita -Taveta County, have threatened to raid and destroy illicit brew dens. They complained that most men had abdicated their parental responsibilities and had been enslaved by the liquor. Addressing a public rally organised by the Taita-Taveta County Assembly Majority Leader Cromwell Baridi at Mwanda Location on Tuesday, the women said efforts to bring back the husbands home had been frustrated by lack of an alternative solution to the drinking menace. This comes at a time when the Government is grappling with widespread sale and consumption of illicit brews and drugs in the region. — Renson Mnyamwezi
