How to roll with the punches

Your ability to deal with difficult or stressful situations is called rolling with the punches. Rather than buckling under pressure, use the strategies below to soften and deflect daily obstacles.

1. Adapt

Doggedly sticking to your goals and a pre-determined path is a sure-fire way to fail if unexpected obstacles are thrown at you. Learning to adapt to unplanned situations helps you retain forward momentum.

2. Stay positive

There is always a silver lining, sometimes you just have to work really hard at seeing it. Staying positive is hard but it can mean the difference between success and failure.

3. Be decisive

Making split-second decisions under pressure may not seem like the obvious choice but working quickly, efficiently and with a clear mind saves a lot of time.

4. Trust your instincts

If something feels wrong, it probably is. Trust your gut.
