Cricket Kenya (CK) has endorsed 10 officials to run the game’s affairs for two years following elections.
There was no change to the positions that had elicited a lot of interest, as no one challenged the incumbents by the deadline of nominations on March 10. The Annual General Meeting on Sunday at Ruaraka Sports Club was, therefore, a formality.
CK Chief Executive Officer, Tom Tikolo, yesterday said the executive committee endorsed by 17 delegates was mandated to form sub-committees to assist in developing the game.
"Some of the sub-committees are selection, technical, finance and fund raising, development, governance and ethics, cricket operations, disciplinary, umpires and scorers, public relations and website," said Tikolo.
Chairman, Samir Inamdar, said the association’s priority was to ensure the national team qualified for the 2011 ICC World Cup, 2010 Under-19 World Cup set for Kenya, Development Programme and reorganisation of CK administrative structures.
He assured of transparency and development and called for support from well-wishers. Kenya National Sports Council Executive Officer, James Akama, who presided over the exercise, urged those charged with development to expand the cricketing boundaries to the rest of the country.
