The High Court has frozen two properties owned by the wife of former Murang'a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria, suspected to have been acquired through corruption.
Lady Justice Esther Maina issued the orders freezing Jane Waigwe's two assets, which are suspected to have been acquired using part of the Sh542 million the anti-graft agency claims the former governor and his associates defrauded the county government.
"I am satisfied that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has established a proper case to warrant issuing the orders freezing the two properties until the suit is heard and determined," ruled Maina.
