The former Prime Minister's wife, Ida Odinga, has been recognised and bestowed the lifetime achievement award. She was honoured with the prestigious international award by the Human Achievers Foundation (H.A.F.). The Lifetime Achievement Award represents Mama Ida's unwavering commitment and results in the education sector.

A former teacher, she is being celebrated for her remarkable contributions to girls' education. Dr Ida Odinga is known for sponsoring students' education, building schools and spearheading the construction of the Dr Ida Odinga Library and Resource Centre at Ogande Girls High School.

She was awarded the honorary title of "Pride of Kenya" by the Foundation, proving that she has been a stepping stone in the education sector. The Human Achievers Foundation is a group of people committed to human dignity and the welfare of children. According to their website, their main aim is to put a smile on everyone's face.

“We believe that the purpose of life is to be useful, responsible and compassionate to the underprivileged. Our 'WE” include “YOU”. We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone, so come and be a part of the venture,” their statement read.

Each year, the Foundation organises the Achievers Awards in different regions of Africa to celebrate and honour individuals who have made a difference in various fields. The foundation works with other NGOs and organisations to support social causes. It focuses on three main areas: women's empowerment, children's health and well-being. By helping marginalised women and supporting sexually abused children, the foundation is helping to create a more humane community.

In fact, as a result of Dr Ida Odinga's victory, the Human Achievers Foundation will be partnering with Homa Bay County through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote education by building schools, providing scholarships and empowering women. The Foundation aims to help individuals in vulnerable communities through education and empowerment.

An overjoyed Ida Odinga took to her Facebook page to thank the Human Achievers Foundation for honouring her with the prestigious award. "I am honoured to receive the Pride of Kenya Award from the Human Achievers Foundation (H.A.F.) for my contributions to education, especially girls' education. H.A.F, headed by Dr Senorita Isaac, focuses on women's empowerment, child welfare and healthcare. They recognised my work in sponsoring students, building schools and establishing the Dr Ida Odinga Library & Resource Centre. H.A.F. will also work with Homa Bay County to empower women and support children's education," she wrote.

She received congratulatory messages from netizens who sent her flowers. One Facebook user wrote: "Great job Min Piny. May it all come back to the young girls in dreams and visions that will reform the world as you imagine. Congratulations."

Another user praised her for having a heart of gold. "Congratulations, mum. When I met you a long time ago and we talked, I knew you had a heart of gold. May the glory of the Lord be manifested in your life and family."

With International Women's Day fast approaching, netizens are praising her unmatched resilience and unwavering dedication. Dr. Ida Odinga truly deserves the Lifetime Achievement Award.
