Kenya’s Covid-19 positivity rate in the last 24 hours stood at 6.8 per cent after 392 people out of 5,730 samples returned positive results.
The death toll reached 5,504 after five more people succumbed to the disease.
Eight hundred and fifty-six (856) patients recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries to 286,483.
Kenya has thus far tested 3.16 million people for Covid-19, with a caseload of 318,249 being recorded from the tests.
On Covid-19 vaccination, Kenya has so far vaccinated 11.1 million people against Covid-19. Out of this number, 4.8 million are fully vaccinated while 6.2 million are partially inoculated, Health ministry said on Tuesday, January 18.
“Another 31,164 are doses administered to those between 15 to 18 years and 94,941 are booster doses,” the ministry said in a press statement.
