Christmas is a season when we all want to spend time with our loved ones. Aside from being with parents, cousins and everyone else, we more so look forward to spending quality time with our significant other.

Being with your boo gives you time to appreciate how far you’ve come especially since the rest of the year is practically spent at work. As much as most people would want to have that special someone by their side during Christmas, it doesn’t always happen.

The truth is, many people still find themselves single during the festive season so you’re not alone.

If this pretty much describes your current situation, here are some tips you may find useful on how you can still have a blast, solo:

Meet up with your friends

Being alone during Christmas can be depressing. But you don’t have to worry about not having a bae when you have your amazing friends. You can organize friendly dates where you catch up with them or maybe book a girl’s trip to an exotic location.

Instead of sitting at home feeling all sad and blue, surround yourself with supportive friends who you can enjoy the festive cheer with.

Spoil yourself

What’s better than giving yourself a treat during the holidays?

You now have time to spoil yourself how you want to and when you want to because there are no restrictions.

Some great options you can try are solo spa dates which are great for relieving stress, salon appointments so you can treat your hair and do a relaxing mani-pedi session, shopping sprees, movie dates, the list is endless.

There are tons of solo fun activities you can try this festive season pick one and go for it.

Plan a single’s party

You don’t have to stop dating just because the Christmas season is here. This is actually the right time to build new friendships and possibly nurture a romantic relationship.

Plan a fun party and tell your circle to invite their friends because you never know what the possibilities are.

Chill with your pet

While there is a health crisis going on, many people are stuck at home. The tradition of visiting family might have to be put on hold temporarily because we never know when we might have lockdowns again.

We just have to cope with all the changes that are happening but, you won’t feel too blue about it when you have your furry friend to keep you company.

Buy them snacks, watch movies with them and have fun together because they also deserve to feel the joys of the festive season.

Sign up for charity work

There are many kids in children’s’ homes who would really appreciate a visit. You can even decide to make it your yearly tradition to do some charity work as a way of celebrating Christmas.

Have a zoom party

This year has put many people in a tight financial situation. You might have been able to afford trips home, spa appointments or lunch dates with friends in previous years but maybe that’s not possible right now.

To shut down holiday loneliness, you can still have zoom parties with your loved ones.

Virtual parties are becoming more popular so you can either plan one or join a virtual Christmas party that has already been organized.

Take time for self-reflection

This year has taught us how grateful we need to be there for each day. You might have fallen ill at some point but all that matters is that you’re alive and healthy right now.

As you make some home cooked meals for yourself and binge watch movies, you can journal what you are grateful for so far and what your New Year resolutions are.
