New Year is a great opportunity to reflect and give thanks, for truly only God could have done it for you. Many times, we look at what we do not have, but when we do look back and count our blessings, like the writer of the song:
Count your blessings, Name them one by one.
Count your blessings; See what God hath done.
Count your blessings; Name them one by one.
Count your many blessings; See what God hath done.
It becomes obvious that there is so much that we all are grateful for.
For those struggling with lifestyle issues, addictions, poor health, failing relationships, seeking employment and needing support, remember to position yourself and have an attitude of gratitude.
Seek God in prayer because He promises not only to meet you at your point of need but also He will do exceedingly abundantly more than you think or even imagine.
Every New Year offers an opportunity for a new beginning and enables you to make a clean start. Why carry excess baggage, leave it behind, you certainly will not need it going forward. This is a great time to restructure, re-energise and set smart goals.
Congratulations to those who were able to achieve their goals and who actualised their resolutions in 2015. To those of you who fell off their path within the first quarter, you need not worry, there is yet another opportunity to get started.
Whatever your resolution, it is helpful to have someone to hold you accountable as you aspire to achieve your dreams.
It would be prudent to answer the following questions in order to set yourself on the path for success;
What resolutions have you made this year? What goals have you set?
How important are they to you? How have you fared in the past?
What is your success story?
Who did you share the testimony with? Who knows of your dreams and ambitions?
How do you intend to achieve them?
Who will you appoint as accountability partner?
If you do not have an accountability partner, your pathway to success with be a little challenging.
It is crucial to share your goals and objectives from the beginning and articulate clearly the role your accountability partner will play, set expectation and talk about them. Plan for a periodic meeting depending on the nature of goals and need for accountability.
Have a structure of engagement, times of contact and how they will support you to achieve your desired goals. Simply knowing that you are accountable to someone will help keep you on check.
Be honest and sincere to both yourself and your accountability partner, you are in this together for the long haul.
An accountability partner will not only hold you accountable but shall be your cheerleader.
This partner should be someone you respect highly, who has done commendable work, is reliable, and recognises their position as mentor/ accountability partner.
May 2016, be a great year of productivity, good health, joy and happiness as you seek to press on towards the goal.
