A man has been arraigned in an Eldoret court for impersonating Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital CEO Dr Wilson Aruasa.
Ezra Kiptoo Saina who uses two different identities - Daniel Rono and Dr Wilson Aruasa - was accused of defrauding jobless residents by pretending that he is in a position to offer them jobs at the referral facility on October 13, 2022.
Police say the suspect opened a Facebook account and WhatsApp page, placing Dr Aruasa's photos with different contacts.
According to Isaac Kosgey, an investigating officer, Saina used the photos to convince people that their employment deal was genuine.
Dr Aruasa is one of the complainants. Others include Kabale Galgalo and Ann Chemworso.
Saina denied the charges and was released on a bond of Sh50,000 or cash bail of Sh30,000.
The case will be heard on November 28.
