Kenya Union Party's David Pkosing has successfully defended his seat in the August 29, 2022 Pokot South parliamentary election.

Pkosing garnered 28,225 votes, while UDA candidate Simon Kalekem came second with 15,298 votes.

Independent candidate James Lopoyetum got 2,677 votes.

Out of the 58,409 registered voters in Pokot South, 46,200 (79.10 per cent) cast their ballots.

A total of 156 votes were rejected.

Pkosing, who cast his vote at Chepkopegh Primary School Polling Station on Monday, August 29, had exuded confidence of victory.

The KUP candidate took an early lead as results started trickling in from the 208 polling stations in the constituency.

This will be Pkosing's second term as an MP for Pokot South. He first joined the National Assembly on Jubilee Party ticket in 2017.
