The ex-Gunner tweeted: “Proud to become part of this club”.
Gnabry started his professional career with Arsenal, making his debut back in 2012.
However, he struggled to make the grade and was loaned out to West Brom for the 2015-16 season where he made just one appearance.
In the summer, he moved to Werder Bremen where he excelled.
However, after just one season with the club, he activated a clause which allowed him to leave — a decision which was criticised by the chairman.
Klaus Filbry accused him of opting for the “easy choice.”
He said: “I would have hoped for some more perseverance from Serge
“Maybe he opted for the easiest way.
“I think it’s a pity, but I wish him all the best.
“I was hoping that he could imagine a longer stay at Bremen — and the talks we had also suggested that was an option.”
However, Gnabry seems pleased with his decision.
Following his decision to join Bundesliga champions, he admitted: “”It’s a huge honour for me to sign for Bayern
“I have exciting times ahead of me, which I look forward to.”
Meanwhile, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was content the club had secured the signature of another young, homegrown talent.
He added: “We are happy that in Serge Gnabry another young German international has come to Bayern.”
