And now one of the biggest lottery companies, Lotto, has come to Kenya with lucky winners standing a chance to win Sh100million.
Lotto will sell tickets to Kenyans who will have a chance to win the jackpot currently standing at Sh100m.
When buying a ticket, one will chose six numbers from 1-49 and a bonus from the number 0-9. The person whose selected numbers match the drawn numbers will become a multi-millionaire.
However, even for those who do not get all the numbers right, there are consolation prizes ranging from Sh10million to Sh75 with thousands of other prizes on offer as well.
According to a press release from Lotto, the company will use the easiest and most convenient transaction platform in this case mobile phones.
“Lotto tickets will be purchased through Mpesa and our online platform.
“The choice of platforms gives consumers the unique chance to select their own numbers or to have this randomly selected for them. Most games don’t give this option, which in some way puts their destiny in their hands,” the company said.
It further added that draws will be conducted twice a week on Kenya Television Network (KTN).
The company assured that aside from individual winners, a percentage of the winnings will also go to charities, like Olympic team to Rio 2016.
