In anticipation of the upcoming ‘Black Panther 2’, Marvel music and Hollywood Records have released the first three tracks.

The three-track prologue soundtrack features Nigerian artisté Tems. She is a singer, songwriter and record producer. Tems is currently making headlines after making her solo debut on Billboard Hot 100 chart with her 2020 song, “Free Mind”. The song is off her ‘For Broken Ears’ EP.

The trailer, released on Sunday, was soundtracked by Tems’ rendition of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright”.

News of this made Tems a trending topic for the better part of the day.

Tems, real name, Temilade Openiyi, rose to international fame after featuring on Wizkid’s 2020 hit song Essence. She has since gone on to win several awards including most recently America’s BET award for Best International Act.

Black Panther 2 trailer stars Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Dominique Thorne, Florence Kasumba among others.

The movie will be released in theaters nationwide on Nov. 11. Ludwig Goransson is on board as the film’s composer.

During the trailer reveal, film director Coogler, who helmed the first “Black Panther,” reflected on Chadwick Boseman’s death. The “Black Panther” star died in August 2020 after a private, four-year battle with colon cancer.

“It’s going to be hard to follow that up, but we’ll try,” Coogler said. “It’s been five years since I was here. I sat about there and we premiered the first footage from ‘Black Panther 1,’ and sitting next to me was our T’Challa, the late great Chadwick Boseman,” he said.

In an interview with ‘The Hollywood Reporter’, Lupita, who plays Nakia gave an account of how it was shooting without Chadwick Boseman.

"It's been a doozy of a few years for everybody," said Nyong'o, who plays Nakia in the movies. "For us as a cast, having lost our king, Chadwick Boseman, that was a lot to process, and in many ways, we're still processing it. When you lose someone, I don't know when you stop missing them. And of course, we felt it so much, making this film without him”, she said.
