Timon Makswell can finally afford a smile after Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) intervened and rescued his daughter baby Tamara from his in-laws who had forcefully taken her away.

The DCI, through its officers from the Child Protection Unit, rescued baby Tamara on Wednesday 6th March in a mission that saw two unidentified people arrested.

Dear #KOT, Detectives from the Child Protection Unit have rescued #BabyTamara & arrested two culprits. The baby is in safe hands & the two suspects are in lawful custody & will be arraigned in court tomorrow. Timon had touched hearts with his heartwrenching plea for help to get his 9-months old daughter from his in-laws after he was arrested. He had taken to Facebook, while still at the police station, to narrate how his daughter was snatched from him by his aunt-in-law after his wife succumbed to liver related and post-pregnancy complications. Baby Tamara was only 4-months old when her mother passed on.

His entreaty and ordeal touched netizens and they rallied behind him as the issue went viral under the trending topic #JuticeforBabyTamara. Users tagged the DCI countlessly prompting the Investigations agency to get onboard.

According to Timon, his in-laws accused him of kidnapping his baby and that he stopped giving her medication, an insinuation that baby Tamara was sick. Apparently, his aunt-in-law had informed the officers that Timon’s late wife died of HIV and baby Tamara was born positive.

He says he gave up the fight to keep baby Tamara after the police took him away, and he started receiving threats. Feeling hopeless, he took to social media in a bid to get help rescuing his daughter.

The two suspects are expected to appear in court today.
