What to eat to reduce stretch marks and improve your skin

Health

Stretch marks appear in both, men and women, but they are more common in women since our bodies experience more drastic changes especially during pregnancies.

Stretch marks appear  mostly due to hormonal alterations and weight-loss and they occur as a result of the skin losing elasticity and the fibers getting broken.

There isn’t any sure way of making stretch marks disappear completely but they can be managed by having a daily work-out routine and following a healthy diet.

These are some foods that can help reduce the stretch marks of your body and you should include in your daily meals:

Green veggies

Foods like spinach, broccoli, lettuce etc. contain a component called lutein that protects the skin, reducing the stretch marks and making your dermis look better.

Beans

Beans contains zinc what avoids the skin to get broken. Eat beans at least once in a week but don’t take so much because it has a high content of glucose.

Peanuts

Peanuts and in general all nuts contain vitamin E and fatty acids that nourish the skin improving its elasticity. Don’t take so much and avoid adding salt on them.

Fresh fruits

Fruits have fibers that help purifying the body, they also contain a lot of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that improve the appearance of the skin. Fresh fruits are the best option, preserved fruits have a lot of added sugars.

Avocado

Avocados contain healthy fatty acids that keep the skin nourished soft and smooth. Try to eat quarter of an avocado per day you will feel the difference.

Water

Water is not exactly a food but it still very important. Water detoxifies the body and is essential to reduce stretch marks. Make sure you drink two liters of water daily.

Olive and sunflower oil

These cooking oils provide unsaturated fatty acids and E vitamin that reduce the action of free radicals, nourish the skin and fight stretch marks.
