Best easiest way to detox yourself

Health

Detox is a common health buzz word, and is widely advocated for healthy living. Simply put, detoxification is the removal of toxins from your body. By toxins, I mean substances that are poisonous or may have negative health effects.

Toxins come in various forms and include metals, chemicals, pesticides, and many other natural or artificial pollutants. By just being alive, you are in constant exposure to toxic substances. You will find toxins in virtually everything, including water, food and the air you breathe.

There is no way of avoiding exposure to toxins. It’s all too clear that accumulation of toxins in our bodies can cause many diseases. Luckily, our bodies have in-built natural detoxification mechanisms. This mainly occurs through the liver, kidneys, lungs, skin and large intestines.

Natural detoxification is a continuous process, helping to keep you healthy. But can you supplement the body’s detoxification process and cleanse yourself of undesirable toxins? Yes, you can indeed detox either at defined intervals or as part of your healthy habits.

A detox involves making lifestyle changes, avoiding potentially toxic substances and optimizing the body’s natural detox processes.

Simple lifestyle adjustments will immediately aid your detox endeavors. Eating the right foods is one such measure. Select natural foods, mainly plant-based, with limited processed and animal products. This will lighten the burden of toxins that you ingest, and over time decrease the toxins in your body. You can combine healthy food choices with diets known to promote detoxification, the good old garlic is an example.

Water is a natural detoxifier, and you should take this in plenty. Drink lots of pure water daily, don’t just rely on the water content in your beverages, or in other drinks. You also need to be breathing in clean air. While you can’t really control the environment, you can take simple steps to ensure you are not inhaling too many pollutants. Keep your home well-aerated, get outdoors, and lobby for cleaner cities and towns. Don’t forget to exercise.

This gets you into a sweat and enhances elimination of some toxins. You’ll also be gaining plenty of other health benefits associated with being physically active. You should also find a way of exercising your mind to relive stress, which can be viewed as a toxin in itself. Think of relaxation techniques like meditation, yoga or whatever else.

What about a complete body detox? This has been advocated as a process of getting rid of all toxins from all your body systems.

You must have heard of detox camps, or such other descriptions of a full detox. Though the scientific evidence of medical benefits is variable, there are observable psychological and spiritual benefits. Healthy habits will keep you naturally detoxified in the long run, but you can also spend the occasional weekend in a detox camp.
