Hoo Hoo Hoo, Merry Christmas.
Wow your guests this Christmas with a yummy simple dessert. Better still make it in a jar and share it as a gift to friends and workmates.
Christmas is here, when families get together and celebrate. Christmas in Kenya is largely celebrated with the entire family coming together, sharing a meal and time together.
Prep Time: 15mins
Cooking Time: 10mins
Ready In: 2hours
Ingredients:
1½ cups bread sticks, crushed
4½ tablespoons white sugar
170g (3/4cups) butter, melted
250ml whipping cream, whipped
226g cream cheese
170g packed jelly
2 cups boiling water
1 packet strawberries, washed and cleaned
Directions:
Preheat oven to 1750C/ 3500F
Mix the crushed bread sticks 4½ tablespoons sugar and melted butter in a bowl, then press into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking pan.
Bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly toasted then set aside to cool completely.
In a medium sized bowl, beat the sugar and cream cheese until smooth. Fold in whipped cream then evenly spread the mixture over the cooled crust.
Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until set.
In a medium bowl, stir the jelly mix and boiling water to allow the mixture to cool then stir in the strawberries. Pour this over cream cheese mixture in the pan (the mixture should be completely cool so as not to melt the cream cheese).
Refrigerate for about an hour or two or until completely chilled.
I wish all Merry Christmas.
