If you're a mum or dad then you'll know that everything changes as soon as your little one is born.

It's all well and good planning for your new arrival in pregnancy but nothing can prepare you for how different your life will be.

Yes, there are the obvious things - like having to add nappies to the weekly shopping list and, of course, the fact that you're now responsible for another human life.

But do you ever get woken up at 6am on a Saturday to watch a Disney film and think "a few years ago I would have just been getting in at this time..."??

We've taken a playful look at some of the ways your life might change as your babies grow up.

1. Sleeping in late is a thing of the past

...even on weekends. You will find yourself berating younger, childless relatives for getting up at 11am.

2. Hangovers are 10 times worse

Going to your work Christmas party while your other half looks after the little ones? Just remember that in the morning your kids won't know the difference between a sober parent and a hangover parent, or that they shouldn't be playing drums at 7.30am.

3. You become an expert at disguising healthy food

Even though it doesn't always work. But babies pulling faces are cute, and you'll have a funny video to show their mates at their 18th birthday party.

4. Romance only exists in the Disney films you're watching

Do you plan 'date nights' that are scuppered when you're both too tired to go out? Do you end up snoring on the sofa surrounded by ironing and kids' toys?

5. You no longer care how disgusting bodily fluids are

Sneezes are just a regular occurrence and you always have tissues to hand. Once you've changed nappies, you can conquer the world.

6. The only parties you go to end with 'party bags' being handed out

These are usually the kind that take place in noisy indoor play areas on Sunday mornings, where you have to sit and endure the noise with your cup of coffee and newspaper.

7. You know all the words to every song in Frozen

...or any other Disney films, kids' TV shows and nursery rhymes, even though you can no longer name any of the top 10 singles.

8. Your dog is now just a dog

Remember when you had no kids and treated your pet like a baby? Now your cat is just a cat, and your dog is just a dog. Although if they realise this, they might try to win back the 'baby of the house' title.

9. You have an overwhelming sense of love

...and just wish they could stay little. If you have more than one child, let's hope they love each other. Although bickering and sibling rivalry are more likely.

10. You forfeit treats for yourself to buy treats for your kids

Remember when you used to buy SHOES with the extra money in your pay packet? Or go for meals or drinks with friends? Now it all goes on sticker books, loom bands and dolls. But at least it makes them happy.

11. You appreciate the little things in life

How did you feel about bubbles before you were a parent? Indifferent? Now they are the wondrous things that can keep your little one entertained for hours on end.
