Harry and Meghan's 'belongings removed from Frogmore Cottage as Princess Eugenie moves in'

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's possessions have been removed from Frogmore cottage to make way for Princess Eugenie.

Harry and Meghan's belongings were taken out of the Windsor property in the "middle of the night", reports say.

They have handed the keys over to Harry's cousin Eugenie, and her husband Jack Brooksbank.

The couple, who married two years ago and are expecting a baby early next year, moved into the five-bed home two weeks ago.

While they've been settling in, Harry and Meghan's belongings were transported to California.

“Removal vans pitched up in the dead of the night and cleared out the cottage," a source told The Sun.

"They definitely did not want to be seen.

“Emptying their home and handing over the keys is a pretty strong sign Harry and Meghan have no plans to return."

The couple have had their property removed from the house, despite it still being their official residence.

In doing so they have raised the question of how long they will be staying in the US and away from the UK.

The Princess and the Sussexes are said to have reached a private agreement but it is not known how long for.

The royal property switch comes after Harry and Meghan repaid Sh349 million (£2.4 million) of taxpayers money that was spent on refurbishing Frogmore.

Meghan, 38, is understood to have chosen eco-friendly, toxin-free, vegan paint for the walls of the cottage.

Five apartments were knocked together to reform the property, while beams, floors and the water and gas systems were replaced.

Frogmore was meant to become the couple's home after they married in Windsor.

In the six months before they left for North America they spent just two weeks there.

Royal gardeners were sent to the cottage last month to get the grounds in order.

They also aired out the house, which had been shut for eight months.
