A mum who lost her son in a supermarket has revealed the life-saving hack she used to find him.

The unnamed woman explained that whilst shopping in Kmart, she lost her two-year-old for 10 minutes, saying: "It was the scariest 10 minutes of my life."

The moment she realised her son was missing, she ran to the front of the store and told the security there her child's appearance to make sure that he didn't leave the shop, even if it was with another adult.

As she frantically ran up and down each aisle calling his name, she remembered a TikTok she'd seen.

She said that if your child goes missing, start calling out their description.

While trying not to break down, the woman walked around the supermarket repeating his description loudly: "I'm missing a little boy, he's wearing a yellow shirt and has brown hair. He's two years old and his name is Nathan," reports Kidspot.

And instantly, every adult around her stopped what they were doing and was on high alert, searching for her son.

Within a few minutes, an older man spotted Nathan and shouted out that he'd found him.

A lot of thank-yous later she held onto her son, grateful for both seeing the life-changing video and for the help of everyone in the shop that day.

"If I hadn't have been calling out, that man would have had no clue that I was looking for Nathan," she added.

"Nate would have walked past him and he wouldn't have blinked."

Since being posted on Facebook, the hack has received numerous comments from fellow parents who praised her quick thinking.

Many others also thanked her for sharing the hack that they'll never forget.
