NAIROBI, KENYA: Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has ordered the Nairobi Hospice to vacate from its premises to pave way for construction of a day care centre.
Speaking to the Press in Nairobi, KNH Deputy Director for Finance and Administration Carylus Odiango said a misunderstanding over the premises being occupied by the Nairobi Hospice had been resolved.
He said the hospice should move to a new building that is 100 metres away by tomorrow.
Nairobi Hospice chairman Sobbie Mulindi said the hospice was in a process of putting up its own building and was waiting for approvals from National Environmental Management Authority (Nema) and Nairobi City County.
"We have resolved a misunderstanding which had arisen between Nairobi Hospice and KNH and the hospice will move to the new building as quickly as possible," said Dr Mulindi.
A hospice official told The Standard that they were forced to relocate to the new building near KNH morgue and the only access to the building was through the morgue's gate.
