Man claims to be Nandy's biological father days after wedding

Just days after Tanzanian singer Faustina Charles Mfinanga alias Nandy tied the knot with singer Bill Nass in a lavish ceremony that brought the city of Dar es Salaam to a standstill, a man has emerged claiming that he is the biological father of the songbird.

Speaking in an interview, the man who identified himself as Charles Godfrey Mfinanga narrated that he separated from Nandy’s mother while she was expectant. According to the man, the year 1992 was a difficult one for him and thus he chose to separate from Nandy’s mother.

“Mimi naitwa Charles Godfrey Mfinanga, mama yake tulipotezana akiwa mjamzito. Nilikuwa mtu wa madini, sikuweza kumtafuta na wakati huo mwaka 1992 hakukuwa na simu kwa ajili ya mawasiliano,” he narrated.

Narrating that he shared a good relationship with Nandy’s mother, he further claimed that Nandy’s aunt came between his relationship with her mother.

“Nimeona nijitambulishe anikubali au anikatae lakini ajue kwamba mimi ndio baba yake wa kumzaa kama ana mwingine ni wa kumlea. Mimi na mama yake Nandy hatukuwa na tatizo lolote isipokuwa dada yake alimuonea wivu wakati nipo na yule mama. Akamtorosha/kumpoteza kama mfanyakazi akampeleka sehemu ambayo sijui,” he continued.

According to him, he is coming out now so that Nandy can acknowledge and trace her roots. Adding that he has never met her before, the man went on to state that whether Nandy takes him as his father or not, he does not hold any grudge or hard feelings towards her.

“Nachotamani kumwambia Nandy ni kitu kimoja, mimi sijawahi kumuona, kama ametambua kuna Charles Mfinanga zaidi ya mimi awe huru nampa baraka zote lakini ajue ni damu yangu. Najulikana Arusha nzima, nikakutana na huyu mwanamke ambaye hata sasa hivi nikimuona amezeeka sijui ana hali gani kama akinitambua anitambue au akinikataa anikatae ila aelewe Nandy ni mtoto wangu kwa sababu aliondoka na ujauzito,” he added.

This comes just days after Nandy’s lavish wedding. It is reported that Nandy and her husband Bill Nass received hefty gifts including money and expensive items.

Just days to her wedding, Nandy announced that together with Bill, they are expecting their first child. She however made it clear that she will keep her baby away from social media.

“Kuhusu swala la mtoto, hatakuwa kwenye social media. Hakuna mtu atajua jina lake wala jinsia,” Nandy said.
