Once again our Deputy President was moved to tears in public.
The cause of William Ruto’s tears was 8-year-old Nina Kanana Mutheu.
Nina recited a hilarious yet heartwarming poem complete with a pet name for Ruto; Uncle Willy.
In a video shot by Nation’s Phoebe Okall, the crowd can be seen cheering as Nina wished the DP a long life and blessings as well as sending her greeting to the president, Uncle Uhuru.
Her greatest wish according to her poem was to sit next to Ruto. A wish that she was granted as Ruto came forward to not only hug her but also get her a chair right next to him. All this while, he was wiping tears from his eyes.
This is not the first time Ruto has shed tears in public. Back in March 2013 soon after the Jubilee alliance took power, the DP broke down on the church podium of Faith Evangelical Ministry in Karen.
