Head coach, Florence Adhiambo said the team lacks basics in training.

"We have decided as a team not to focus on our challenges and that is why we have come this far, but we are asking the Government to intervene and help us make these challenges more bearable," she said.

The Prime Minister who donated Sh500,000 promised that the Government will assist them meet their travel expenses for future matches.

He acknowledged the good performance the team had achieved in its campaign to the World Cup later this year in Japan.

"We are proud of the girls, they have done us proud. We want football to bring glory home as their athletics counterparts have done. We will continue supporting the girls to see them in the World Cup.

"Football has been dominated by men and it’s now time to give women a chance to prove themselves. My greatest desire is to see a Kenyan team in the World Cup and I believe these girls will make it," he said.
