Covid-19: 11 succumb as 341 more test positive for virus

Covid-19 has killed 11 more Kenyans in the last 24 hours pushing the country's fatalities to 3,108, the Ministry of Health says.

Kenya also recorded 341 more positive cases from a sample size of 3646. Of the 341, 27 are foreigners while the rest are Kenyans.

The positivity rate today is 9.4 per cent.

The total number of infections since the pandemic struck now stands at 169, 697.

On the contrary, 144 patients have recovered from the disease bringing the total number of recoveries so far to 115, 988.

Of the recoveries reported in the last 24 hours, 96 are from Home-based care and Isolation while 48 others had been admitted to various health facilities across the country.

Kisumu county recorded 57 more cases in the last 24 hours, which is the lion’s share of the cases reported today. Nairobi had 48 new cases, Siaya 36 as the other counties had less than 30 new cases.

The Ministry of Health reports that there are 1067 patients admitted in hospitals countrywide, 4,680 others on Home-based care and isolation while another 104 patients are in ICU.

So far, 963, 241 people have been vaccinated.
