Coffee table trays as a decorative aspect to your home

Your Home

coffeetable

Using trays for décor is fun. They add polish to your space, and will help keep your coffee table arrangements tidy and alluring. They also create dimensions and keep you organised.

When buying a tray for décor, make sure it fits your style. The décor possibilities with such trays are endless but today we focus on using them on the coffee tables.

Now, coffee tables are known to bring special ambience to any room, especially the living room and decorative trays are part of decorating a tabletop. Adding a tray as an accessory on the table will give your room the look you so much yearn for, keep chaos at bay, and are quite functional.

Trays on coffee tables serve as centrepieces where you can put your flowers, flower pots, candles, books, remotes, and even artwork. One thing to note, however, is that always choose a tray that will blend with your coffee table. The secret is in how you utilise it. Some trays are rustic while others are modern; the choice depends on your décor style. If, for example, your coffee table is rustic, a wooden tray would be more ideal.

You can use a tray of any shape, material, style, texture and prize. The material can be metal, wood, glass or wicker. The good thing about trays is that they are affordable. What more? You can find them almost anywhere, from supermarkets to home stores. Once you find the tray that speaks to you, it’s time to add content.

So how do you style your coffee table tray?

As you embark on decorating your tabletop with a tray, think of it as a surface. You can arrange all décor pieces you would ordinarily place on the tabletop on the tray. To add some visual interest, vary the heights, shapes and sizes of the items you display. You can experiment with different objects.

Books: These are great when you want to add height to the objects you display on your tray. So, stack some books, and then place an accessory on top of it; you could also just have the books as decorative objects on their own.

Decorative boxes can also help in varying the heights of the objects you display on your table.

Candles: Give your table some romantic and beach feel by arranging candles of varying heights on the tray then put some seashells or rocks around them. You can have this as a display by itself or combine with other accessories.

Decorative balls: A friend visited me and found some balls on my coffee table; she said she had seen them in one of the popular home décor shops in Nairobi but did not know what they were meant for. Well, you can also use decorative balls in varying sizes, materials, colours, and patterns on a tray.

Potted plants: You could be having small potted plants but no idea how to best display them. Collect them and put them on your coffee table tray to offer your space some natural element.
