Children kidnapped for sex or forced to fight for ISIS have been left abandoned and suicidal.

Girls raped and made pregnant by ISIS have been separated from their children.

And boys forced to front lines in Iraq and Syria have been left with mental and physical scars.

More than 2,000 Yazidi children were snatched as ISIS purged their Kurdistan homeland – also killing 5,000 – because of differences in religion from Sunni Islam.

Actress and activist Angelina Jolie highlighted their plight recently to the United Nations.

Yazidi Janan, 22, said: “I was forced to have a son. I would never ask to be reunited with his father, but I need to be reunited with my son.”

Hanan, 24, whose daughter was taken from her, said: “We have all thought about killing ourselves.”

Amnesty’s 64-page report, Legacy of Terror: The Plight of Yazidi Child Survivors of ISIS, is out today.

Matt Wells, of Amnesty International, said: “They were subjected to the horror of life under ISIS, and have been left to pick up the pieces.”
