Students at Starehe Girls Centre Nairobi have been sent home as the school was shut indefinitely after some students at the institution contracted a yet-to-be-determined disease.
The closure comes after the school released a press statement confirming that 52 students had been isolated within the school on Tuesday October 1 and were being monitored over a strange illness. The School's director, Sister Jane Soita had earlier said the condition was ‘minor’, and that test results from the affected students were expected today.
According to reports, the affected girls had symptoms that included a high pitch cough, sneezing and a low-grade fever.
