Clean suits, dirty cities, new oaths and old vices nature of our politics

So help me God...

Bible in hand they are sworn in. Most of them know how ungodly things became in their desperation to clinch power. Values were silenced. God was not consulted. Some even know that under the blue light of truth, another deserved the seat they now boast of. Their journey to power is rated and not good for public consumption. Do they really need God's help now? Maybe after they have helped themselves at the coffers!

It should scare anyone who vainly swears in the name of God. God does not take vows lightly. An oath is double-edged. It empowers and also reprimands. But the Bible moment for most leaders seems a ritual of little emotion. Once the religious oath is dramatised, what is one thing Kenyan leaders oath to truly? Making more and more money.
