When you're more likely to meet the love of your life

Living

If you weren't so lucky in love, you'll be pleased to hear that there’s a day just for that- finally meeting 'The One'.

For the third year running, Dating Sunday is one of the busiest Sundays of the year, with more users than ever signing up or logging on to dating sites.

And according to the experts, the best time to log onto Tinder, Hinge, Bumble or whatever app you prefer is 11pm on the first Sunday of the year.

Zoosk CMO Luciana Telles explains why the first Sunday of the year is perfect timing for singles to look for online connections.

She said: "It’s the first weekend after New Year’s Eve, which means that people have not only set themselves New Year’s resolutions, they’ve had a few days to think about how to put them into practice."

"Additionally, it’s about 6 weeks out from Valentine’s Day, meaning that singles who spark something on Jan 5 have plenty of time left to lock down a date for Feb 14.”

And she's not the only expert to suggest that Sunday is the best day to reinstall those apps, with Hinge also reporting that last year users went on 53 per cent more dates in January than they did in the previous month.

Likewise, dating app The Inner Circle received a 30 per cent increase in the number of matches and have predicted a 3 per cent increase in stats today.

According to David Vermeulen, CEO and founder: "The popularity of dating apps is continuing to grow immensely, so we’re expecting to see an even greater surge in people joining the app, starting conversations and organising dates."

Match believes that dating TV shows could be another reason why one third of singles are looking to revamp their love lives this year.

A further 24 percent of 18-34 year olds say these shows help them take a step back and assess the state of their own love life
