Multiple award winning gospel artist Daddy Owen has come out to clear the air on the controversy sorrounding his new song Wewe ni Mungu.
Speaking to SDE, Daddy Owen said that the song is a swahili rendition and is a church song owned by nobody.
“No one can claim the right of the song that originated from DRC and has since been sang in South Africa, Zambia just to mention a few countries. Besides I never claimed to own the song and that is why I clearly stated that the song is a rendition-in Swahili version.”
Daddy Owen added that people should first acquiaint themselves with facts before criticizing or accusing him.
The song had drawn sharp reactions from the diaspora fans who claimed that it was plagiarized from South African gospel musician Kgotso- Messiah sang in Zulu in 2012.
