Tennis champion Serena Williams advanced to the Australian Open quarter finals after beating number seven seed Aryna Sabalenka.
After a three-set win, Williams, 39, is now on her way to win her 24th title. She won her 23rd Australian Open in 2017 when she played while pregnant with daughter Olympia.
“I think it's been a lot of players that really could win the title since the beginning of the draw,” Williams said. “I think there's so many players that can come out and have won Grand Slams and can keep winning.
"It's good. It's good to see. It's good to see that I'm in that mix, too."
She will face Simona Halep next, a two-time Grand Slam winner.
Naomi Osaka on the other hand beat last year’s finalist Garbine Muguruza to proceed to the quarter finals too.
Osaka, a three-time grand slam champion registered a 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 win in the opening match.
“I think today was just a battle if I can describe it in one word. For me, I feel like I'm very happy with myself for the way I overcame the match,” Osaka said.
She will now face Taiwan’s Hsieh Su-wei.
