On a local level, Dettol East Africa has implemented the Healthy Hands Program. Since August 2010, the program has taught over three million children why, when and how to wash their hands in over 3,500 schools. Our target is to reach 4 million by the end of 2016.
Talking about the Dettol Global Hand wash Fun Day at the SOS Children’s Village in Buruburu, Sachin Varma, Country Manager RB East Africa said, “We believe that it’s important to inculcate healthy behavior changes at an early age.
A simple act of hand wash with soap prevents a lot of illness and needless deaths, especially in developing country like Kenya. Global Handwashing Day gives us the opportunity to create an awareness platform, where consumers can be educated and at the same time, a small step from them helps in making a big difference towards this endeavor.”
He further added, “At Dettol, we pledge to make lives of billions of people healthier and happier by improving their hygiene habits. We sincerely believe that this campaign will help us in making a positive impact on people’s attitude towards their hygiene habits.”
